JOB SUMMARY:

 

Serve as the administrative human resources liaison and payroll administrator for the College of Art, Architecture and Construction (CAAC). Coordinates all department and college personnel/payroll activities, providing administrative support and training. Contribute to process improvement, efficiency and ensure data and transaction accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

35% - Essential - ADMINISTRATIVE HR LIAISON: Coordinates the hiring process workflow for all faculty (T-TT, lecturers, post-docs), students, and staff (i.e., tools, procedures, processing of forms) across all units.  Offers streamlined and efficient process improvements as needed. Works closely with unit representatives responsible for departmental activities (e.g., exits, management of the Temporary (TMP) Employment Management Reports, onboarding, etc.) to ensure accuracy. Provide support in the development and execution of the yearly strategic hiring plan (faculty and staff). Manages, tracks, and organizes accurate, comprehensive files related to HR, including recruitment processes, offer letters, personnel actions, annual staff evaluations, FTE tracking etc. Review all personnel forms and job offer letters for accuracy before obtaining college-level approval and forwarding them to OHR. Organize and manage headcount, FTE tracking, and recruiting status summary for the College.
30% - Essential - PAYROLL ADMINISTRATION: Manage the college's payroll process driving standardization, efficiency, and compliance. Drives consistency and continuous improvement in payroll administration practices, including the summer pay process (i.e., tools, procedures) across all units in CAAC, working closely with unit representatives responsible for departmental activities. Assists with all summer pay forms for 9-month faculty. Ensures that summer pays are entered into the HR system. Responsible for all special pay data entries, including but not limited to awards, relocation reimbursements, retro payments, and summer pay.  Provides support across all units with special pay data entry to establish separation of duties and enable second-person verification by the department.
20% - Essential - RECRUITING & HR ADMINISTRATION: Manage and provide recruiting support for Dean's Office hires and facilitate search committee process for College level staff positions. Manage and organize HR-related responsibilities/delegated authority paperwork, including recruitment processes(s), approvals, offer letters, etc. Ensures that recruitment efforts are in accordance with the faculty handbook.
10% - Essential - GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT: Ensures that all CAAC hiring practices and recruitment efforts adhere to the guidelines set forth in the faculty handbook. This includes offering expert guidance on the formation and assembly of search committees, as well as overseeing the appointment of acting and interim leadership roles. Additionally, serves as the primary custodian of the faculty handbook ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed of its policies and procedures.
5% - Essential - OTHER: Provide administrative and accounting support to the Chief Business Officer, as needed. Conduct special projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education / Experience -  High School or equivalent, relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  1st Bachelor's Degree

(1) year relevant work experience

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Band: 05 ($ 38,985.00 - $ 54,000.00)
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
