JOB SUMMARY:

 

Works independently on the Event Services team in Campus Reservations & Events (CR&E) as an event coordinator for large, complex and high profile events occurring in CR&E spaces and beyond; designs and implements event planning workshops and Student Event Coordinator trainings; manages CR&E social media platforms and performs regular website updates. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

45% - Essential - Event Planning: Works independently as an Event coordinator and as a member of the Event Services team in Campus Reservations and Events to plan and coordinate various events as assigned. Maintains open communication with CRE staff and other campus partners to provide services that result in quality experiences for affiliated and non-affiliated clients and guests. Works with clients to determine needs in order to develop cost worksheet estimates. Seeks ways to reduce costs, provide creative solutions to increase usage of CRE venues, while providing excellent service and results.
30% - Essential - Marketing and Digital Media Management: Works autonomously as the staff liaison for Campus Reservations and Events' website updates; communicates with Student Affairs Creative Services to ensure updates and changes are made to align with the division/ University expectations and policies. Ensures all CRE social media platforms are up-to-date and regularly utilized to highlight events taking place and communicate departmental updates.
10% - Essential - Event Planning Training: Designs and implements various event planning workshops throughout the year in order to educate the university and community on the event planning process. This includes presenting to student organizations, campus partners and others as requested.
10% - Essential - Student Supervision: Actively contributing to the hiring, training, evaluation and supervision of student staff members.  Assists in creating, implementing and managing a training model that ensures that all student staff members are appropriately prepared to be successful in their assigned roles which may include client meetings, professional correspondence with vendors and exceptional customer service.
5% - Essential - Departmental: Meets regularly with supervisor, attends staff meetings and participates in departmental and University-wide committees. Supports Campus Reservations and Events efforts to impact students¿ Clemson experience personally and professionally by providing engaged learning opportunities where students can develop and articulate their leadership and transferable skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  Bachelor's Degree and relevant program experience.
Work Experience with planning, coordinating events and social media management.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Work Experience 3+ years of event planning, logistics and student development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORKING CONDITIONS:

   5% - Overnight Travel

Standard Hrs: 37.5

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Expected Salary Range ($ 38,985.00 - $ 47,000.00)
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
