JOB SUMMARY:

 

Develops and administers promotional information that enhances brand awareness for the College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences (CBSHS); Coordinates, writes, and edits media releases, feature stories and other print and digital materials; Identifies, develops and produces compelling visual promotional stories; Assists Director with strategic priority planning and key initiatives; Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

40% - Essential - News and Feature Writing:
Identifies story opportunities for news and feature writing including, but not limited to, research, teaching, service, student experience, and alumni features; Coordinates interviews, writes and edits media releases and feature stories. Utilizes journalistic principles, practices and techniques in all written communications.
35% - Essential - Storytelling and Content Development - Digital and Print:
Identifies compelling story opportunities for visual production including, but not limited to, research, teaching, service, student experience, and alumni features; Collaborates with Director and team members to create powerful storytelling packages for CBSHS stakeholders, including photo and video assets; Stays up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in storytelling and content creation; Develops digital and print content for College and departmental newsletters, HTML emails and other e-communications; Contributes to website and social media content development; Assists in the planning, development, editing and production of publications such as the CBSHS annual report, departmental brochures, fliers and other print and digital materials.
15% - Essential - Strategic Initiatives:
Assists Director with strategic planning to support CBSHS strategic priories, key initiatives, and Clemson Elevate priorities; Collaborates with Director to increase the quality and awareness of the CBSHS image and brand.
10% - Essential - Administrative:
Actively participates in departmental team-planning meetings; Maintains and updates shared log of open and completed jobs; Utilizes Adobe programs, photography and content management platforms.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  Bachelor's Degree - in marketing, communications, public relations, English or related field
Work Experience - 3+ years

RESPONSIBILITIES

Standard Hours: 37.5/week

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Expected Salary Range:  $ 46,655.00 - $ 66,000.00
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
