JOB SUMMARY:

 

Serves as the Office Manager for the School of Computing. Provides consistent, front-line responses to requests, provide administrative support to the School Director, coordinates complex activities on behalf of the department, oversees personnel and office operations, hiring, and coordinates departmental events. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

35% - Essential - Executive Assistance:  
Provides administrative support to the School Director.  Coordinates the School Director's schedule, meeting, and travel.  Provides knowledgeable responses to inquiries from outside the school as well as from faculty, staff, students, and guests.  Applies policies and procedures while providing support to all that need assistance.
25% - Essential - Office Oversight and Supervision:  
Supports the main office in the absence of the Operations Manager.  Maintains records for the school in compliance with University Records and Retention Policy.  Monitors and provides support for issue related to employee leave.
15% - Essential - Event Planning:  
Assist with communication and set up meetings with the Industry Advisory Board. Assist the School of Computing Industry Liaison in communications to industry partners and engagement in the School of Computing. Maintain donor data, and issue proper communication to donors.
15% - Essential - Departmental Hiring and TPR Support:  
Initiated all faculty and staff hiring for the school.  Applies and interprets University policies and procedures for hiring. Maintain files for the school related to TPR and HR.  Serves as liaison with school payroll personnel.
10% - Essential - Business Support:  
Approves BuyWays purchases and payments for the school, grants, and other special projects based on threshold on behalf of School Director as required.  Serves as the back up for p-card purchases. Provides assistance and support to the undergraduate and graduate programs as needed. Provides support to faculty, post-docs, and graduate teaching assistance for classroom needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education:  High School or Equivalent - And relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or
Work Experience: 0+ years

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education:  1st Associate's Degree
Education: 1st Bachelor's Degree

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE
Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as Lead - Acts as a Lead by guiding the work of others who perform essentially the same work.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides Budget Input - Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Expected Salary Range: ($ 56,000.00 - $ 60,000.00)
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
