JOB SUMMARY:

 

Supports events, outreach and marketing for Clemson Libraries. Manages the Libraries social media channels.  Plans, coordinates, and participates in outreach events that promote Libraries resources and services.  Serves as central contact to anyone interested in holding an event in Cooper Library or associated venues. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

35% - Essential - Events:
Coordinates with external partners who wish to hold events in Cooper Library. Manage event requests; meet with partners to facilitate events; monitor and maintain event policies; and market library event spaces to campus clientele.
30% - Essential - Marketing/Communications:
Oversees all of Clemson Libraries social media channels to provide an informative, fun and engaging platform for information about Libraries products and services. Plans, manages and posts content.  Supervises student interns. Monitors social media statistics and usage. With the Director of Marketing and Communications, develops long term plans and strategies for social media.  With the Graphics Manager, develops templates for handouts aligned with Libraries' branding. Assists with writing articles and posting to the libraries blog. Assists with photography and videography.
25% - Essential - Outreach:
In collaboration with the Teaching and Learning department, plans, coordinates, and participates in outreach events that promote Libraries resources and services such as tours, orientations, contests, and special events. Creates and edits publications for use at these events.  Documents the Libraries participation in events and keeps an inventory of handouts and giveaways.  Provides data for assessment of outreach events.  Keeps overall outreach/event calendar.  Plans and manages branded items for giveaways (swag).
10% - Essential - Service, Compliance, Safety, and Professional Development:
Participates in library and university service activities, such as committees and task forces.  Complies with University, State, and Federal policies and procedures. Maintains a safe and secure working environment.  Participates in professional development such as workshops, webinars, and conferences related to job functions or to increase knowledge of the library or university.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  Bachelor's Degree 

Work Experience - 1+ years related to the development and dissemination of informational material. 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education - Bachelor's Degree - Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field.

Experience - 1+ years of experience in marketing, communications and/or outreach experience in a library.

No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

   5% - Move, transport, raise or lower

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Anticipated Hiring Range: $39,000.00 - $52,600.00
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
