JOB SUMMARY:

 

Clemson University's Office of Institutional Excellence (OIE) is looking for a Project Manager II to fulfill the following duties:

  • The Project Manager II role supports the Office of Institutional Excellence (OIE) with leading and managing assigned major or enterprise-wide projects of significant complexity and risk, related to strategic execution, operational resilience, and transformational initiatives for Clemson University. 
     
  • The Project Manager II role has an expert understanding of project management and Lean process improvement techniques to oversee projects of moderate to significant complexity and risk. 
     
  • The Transformation Project Manager II may also lead and/or mentor other Project Manager I's within OIE with the execution of assigned strategic projects.
     
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

50% - Essential - Strategic Project Execution: 
Lead and manage medium-to-large projects, ensuring a clear strategic alignment with university priorities and goals. Foster a collaborative team environment, inspiring and guiding project teams to achieve project objectives and success metrics. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, identifying potential challenges and devising proactive mitigation strategies to address them for assigned projects. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs, expectations, and concerns. Implement effective communication strategies to keep project team and stakeholders informed, manage expectations, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Generate detailed and insightful project reports, providing a comprehensive overview of project status, milestones, and key performance indicators.  Provide regular project updates to the OIE team via meetings, reports, and other communication channels.
30% - Essential - Transformational Management: 
Build connection between strategic planning, strategic execution, enterprise risk, business continuity, and operational efforts throughout all work completed.  Communicate regularly with other members of the OIE team, identifying opportunities for collaboration between team sections.  Leverage knowledge of these areas to provide comprehensive and strategic support to all work, both project and non-project related.  Ensure alignment between project objectives and University priorities, including the University Strategic Plan. Communicate identified potential risks and possible mitigation plans to OIE leadership.  Collaborate with colleagues on assigned OIE related tasks and/or projects.
20% - Essential - Office of Institutional Excellence Mission: 
Actively contribute to the advancement of the mission of OIE through an inclusive, positive, and team-orientated approach.  Contribute to the reputation and credibility of OIE by demonstrating a strong commitment to accountability and reliability, meeting deadlines, and fulfilling responsibilities to the OIE team, campus partners, and stakeholder with a high level of integrity. Contribute to the team through taking advantage of continued educational opportunities, as well as training and supporting others, including mentoring identified Transformation Manager I's.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education - Bachelor's Degree 

Work Experience - Experience managing large projects of moderate complexity and risk.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education - Bachelor's Degree  

Work Experience - 5+ Years

Certifications - CAPM or PMP certification, OCM Certification, and/or Lean Six Sigma Belt

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Expected Salary Range: ($ 68,397.00 - $ 90,000.00)
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
