JOB SUMMARY:
Manages the Restoration Ag Farm at Piedmont REC. Coordinates daily farm operations that support tree, shrub, plant, and crop production goals. Operation of drone technology for data capture. Facilitates management of other areas of the Clemson Bottoms. Work may include some nights, weekends and holidays. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
50% - Essential - Operations: Plan, coordinate, and direct the daily operations of Restoration Ag Farm and multifunctional agriculture site at the Clemson Bottoms. Develop and execute short and long-term plans of work for the sites. Maintain botanical tree, shrub, crop, and annual plant populations. Responsibilities include equipment operation, planting, harvesting, and plant/crop maintenance activities, and supervision of staff. Collaborate with other CAFLS or PREC units execute mission objectives.
20% - Essential - Facilities & Resources: Maintain land space resources to facilitate crop, tree, shrub, and annual/perennial plant production. Optimize and maintain equipment and facilities use. Maintain greenhouse facility to propagate and distribute plant material. Create and propagate plant materials for potential public sale or revenue generation. Manage other areas at Clemson Bottoms multifunctional agriculture site following long-term plans and as directed.
20% - Essential - Research, Teaching & Outreach: Facilitate university, college, PI, and self-initiated research, teaching, and outreach activities. Prepare reports and material for distribution as necessary. Facilitate site tours and outreach activities as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - 1st Bachelor's Degree - animal husbandry, agriculture or a related field and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Work experience that is directly related to the area of employment may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Work Experience - 1+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Certifications - Pesticide Applicator License

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Anticipated Salary: $52,100
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
