JOB SUMMARY:
This position will support the Office of Research Compliance by administering the federally-mandated Animal Care and Use Program (IACUC) in accordance with regulations related to animal research, testing, teaching and demonstration. Assists with processing of Animal Use Protocol reviews and IACUC functions. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
35% - Essential - Assist with pre-screening of IACUC applications and amendments; review for accuracy and completeness, identify potential risks, coordinate review with the Institutional BioSafety Committee (IBC) and/or Occupational and Environmental Safety (OES) for chemical review if needed. Guide PIs, staff, and students to appropriate training and medical surveillance enrollment. Route protocol applications, amendments, annual reports through the appropriate workflow for committee review.
25% - Essential - Schedule IACUC meetings; prepare agendas by coordinating with presenters and attendees. Attend IACUC meetings; capture attendance, voting, recording. Host online meeting and project documentation during presentations. Prepare meeting minutes for review. Assist with procuring animal use data for required reporting.
15% - Essential - Attend professional development trainings to continually update knowledge of animal welfare, regulations, and requirements. Regularly recall or refer to policy, guidance, or regulation to support requests or requirements of investigators, facility staff, and committee members.
15% - Essential - Provide support to other IACUC Office staff as needed. Attend semi-annual inspections when possible. Additional projects as assigned.
10% - Essential - Manage record-keeping and data management systems. Identify, report and track resolution of InfoEd system concerns and issues. Assist PIs with InfoEd-related questions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - High School or Equivalent and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree - Animal or research related field, and research administration experience preferred

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range ($ 33,340.00 - $ 50,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
