JOB SUMMARY:
The Associate Dean of Students/Director for the Office of Community & Ethical Standards provides senior leadership to the department and directs the University's disciplinary and community standards programs. Provides objective content expertise in development and execution of all related polices and processes. Ensures compliance with all applicable polices, guidelines and laws. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
35% - Essential - Student Conduct Process Management: Directs and manages the process(es) for the administration of cases in compliance with applicable sections identified in the Clemson University Code of Conduct to include: Student Discipline Process, Appeals Process, Student Conduct Records and Conduct of Student Organizations.
30% - Essential - Supervision and Leadership: Manage staff and oversee all levels of operations for disciplinary process and community standards in the Office of Community and Ethical Standards. This includes staff supervision, budget management, assessment, and daily operations.
20% - Essential - Training, Outreach, and Education: Ensure a training system for staff to ensure that they are knowledgeable and offering best practices when providing services. Leads the coordination and presentation of education programs to campus and community stakeholders regarding University expectations related to student standards of behavior and conduct.
15% - Essential - Crisis Response and Committee Involvement: Serve on the Dean on-call team. Serve on divisional and university committees as requested.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree and experience in student services programs
Work Exp 6+ years in higher education or as a legal practitioner
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Doctoral / Professional Degree - higher education or Juris Doctor
Work Exp 8+ years

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages Work of Others - Manages work of others including hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff. Plans organizational structure and job content.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops Department Budgets - Responsible for developing one or more departmental budget(s). Estimated amount of budgetary responsibility in dollar amount must be added.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range ($ 69,765.00 - $ 110,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Essential Level 2 employee
Required to maintain/resume essential support functions, deliver direct care services, and/or provide recovery support before normal operations resume. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
