JOB SUMMARY:
Carries out all duties assigned in a timely and skillful manner involving various HVAC tasks including trouble shooting, repairing, preventative maintenance, and retro-commissioning. Trains less-experienced workers in the HVAC field. Complies with the requirements of the State and national building codes. Subject to callback and unscheduled hours as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Install, upgrade, maintain and repair control systems both pneumatic and electronic. Including but not limited to trouble shooting, calibrating, editing, retro- commissioning, and upgrading logic. Installing short runs of conduit for control circuits and pneumatic tubing, uses various types of software and computer applications. Perform control PM's and correct alarms in the BAS system. Trouble shoot, maintain, repair, replace, perform start ups on variable frequency drives and motor starters.
20% - Essential - Install, upgrade, maintain and repair Heating Water, Chilled Water and Steam systems both primary and secondary. Including but not limited to hydronic pumps, heat exchangers, actuated valves, circuit setting valves, heat recovery systems and all associated piping.
20% - Essential - Install, upgrade, maintain and repair various types of air handling/conditioning equipment and building mechanical systems. Including but not limited to single and multi-zone systems, dual duct, terminal reheat, variable volume, fan coil, air handling units, compressed air and vacuum systems.
10% - Essential - Install, upgrade, maintain and repair various types of DX equipment both water and air cooled. Including but not limited to chillers, coolers, environmental chambers, heat pumps, condensing units, ice makers, freezers and all associated piping and components. Maintains required records for EPA refrigeration tracking.
10% - Essential - Safety, training and Customer Service: Maintains a safe and clean work area and vehicle. Trains other employees in the HVAC field as needed. Communication & Customer Service is high priority in all job duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma and experience in the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems or in the operation and maintenance of HVAC mechanical and building control systems.
Work Experience: 5+ years
Licenses & Certifications:EPA Technician
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associate's Degree - HVAC or Technical Trade
Work Experience: 10+ years

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range: ($ 47,588.00 - $ 55, 240.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Essential Level 2 employee
Required to maintain/resume essential support functions, deliver direct care services, and/or provide recovery support before normal operations resume. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
