JOB SUMMARY:
Provides support to fruit pathology laboratory research and extension activities including the areas of traditional plant pathology and molecular plant pathology. Assists in identifying pathogens determining resistance to fungicides and characterizing pesticide resistance.
JOB DUTIES:
60% - Essential - Conducts experiments and summarizes and discusses results. Catalogues and maintains fungal pathogen laboratory..
20% - Essential - Supports laboratory staff by maintaining lab equipment; troubleshooting and resolving problems and helping with special projects
10% - Essential - Completes projects by assisting project team. Updates job knowledge through educational opportunities and reading technical publications
10% - Essential - Assists in field work related to fruit crop pathology
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor¿s degree in Plant Pathology or related field
