The Extension Weed Science Specialist is a non-tenure-track position specializing in weed management in agronomic crops and pasture environments. This position is a 12-month appointment with a 100% Extension appointment. The anticipated starting date is January 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be located ???
The Extension Weed Science Specialist will collaborate with diverse partners to develop and implement a weed science program in South Carolina to help reduce negative effects on agriculture production.

40% - Essential - UK65: Develop and implement a statewide weed science program plan of work. Collaborate with subject experts, agents, and volunteers to coordinate and deliver new weed science programming and resources to address emerging needs in South Carolina and for the Southeastern Region.
UK67: Develop and implement a statewide weed science program plan of work. Collaborate with subject experts, agents, and volunteers to coordinate and deliver new weed science programming and resources to address emerging needs in South Carolina and for the Southeastern Region and collaborate on a national level. Manage and train volunteers through curriculum development and programmatic efforts.
30% - Essential - UK65: Establish yourself as a content expert at the National level by producing and disseminating scholarly outputs and products (publications, videos, expert presentations, validated evaluation instruments, applied research outputs, etc.) that support weed science. Serve as a resource to Extension agents and clientele within the state in the area of weed management.
UK67: Establish yourself as a content expert at the National level by producing and disseminating scholarly outputs and products (publications, videos, expert presentations, validated evaluation instruments, applied research outputs, etc.) that support weed science. Serve as a resource to Extension agents, associates, clientele, and other specialist within the US in the area of weed management.
20% - Essential - UK65: Collaborate with Agriculture team members, statewide program efforts, and other program teams in program development and delivery. Collaborate with state agriculture and natural resource agencies (South Carolina Department of Agriculture, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources), federal agencies (USDA NRCS), universities, and non-government partner organizations (South Carolina Farm Bureau) to develop and implement a weed science program in South Carolina to help stakeholders.
