JOB SUMMARY:
Clemson University's Advancement Division is looking for an Assistant Director of Annual Giving to fulfill the following duties:
- Serves as Assistant Director of Annual Giving for the Advancement Division of Clemson University.
- Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards annual gifts (less than $50K) from assigned portfolio of annual alumni donors and prospects, focusing on higher-end annual gifts, multi-year commitments and recurring annual gifts.
- Assists in stewarding annual donors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
50% - Essential - Manages Portfolio:
Manages a dynamic portfolio of annual giving prospects/donors with capacity for gifts up to $50,000. Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards annual and recurring gifts for Clemson University, completing a minimum of 30 personal contacts per month through visits, special events, phone, electronic and other contact means. Drives renewals, multi-year commitments, and increased annual support with future goals set in collaboration with the Executive Director of Annual Giving. Encourages multi-year and endowment support benefiting students, faculty, and programs in the future while helping alumni participation rates.
30% - Essential - Fundraising Strategy & Collaboration:
Develops personalized strategies and solicitations for each prospect, with annual goals for dollars raised, solicitations made and visits completed, coordinating with the overall Annual Giving master solicitation plan. Coordinates with other Development, Alumni Association and IPTAY staff & other campus partners as needed in an effort to accomplish Annual Giving and overall fundraising goals. Meets regularly with senior staff and specifically with the Annual Giving Officers to develop strategies for prospect/donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans. Partners closely with major gift officers to qualify and transition prospects with elevated giving potential to major gift portfolios.
20% - Essential - Engagement & Stewardship:
Develops and implements strategies to strengthen donor retention through proactive donor engagement, ensuring consistent renewal and long-term philanthropic commitment. Collaborates with Annual Giving and Advancement staff to develop and produce donor stewardship & engagement materials and special events for annual donors as needed. Monitors outcomes such as stewardship completion rates, renewal percentages, and donor movement along the giving pipeline, ensuring measurable growth in donor loyalty and philanthropic impact.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree - Related experience in an area such as alumni development, fundraising, prospect research or business
Work Experience - 1+ Years

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range: $ 57,334.00 - $ 80,000.00
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
