JOB SUMMARY:
Works as a team player to fulfill all normal pharmacy technician duties in a community pharmacy setting, including administrative and fiscal management duties, pharmacy assistance, inventory management and customer service. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
25% - Essential - Administrative and Fiscal Management: Posts all clinic and pharmacy charges electronically to billing system. Accepts payments of cash, check, or credit cards and posts electronically to the billing system. Secures and is responsible for accuracy of cash drawers, petty cash, and bank deposits. Ensures the right medication is given to the right patient at check-out.
25% - Essential - Pharmacy Assistance: Assists pharmacists with duties delegated by the pharmacist on duty and consistent with training and experience. Assists patients with obtaining 911 information needed to fill prescription(s) by law using insurance or cash. Enters data accurately, adding or selecting plan codes. Selects drug and counts and labels medications to be verified by pharmacist.
25% - Essential - Inventory Management: Assists pharmacist by making recommendations on prescription and non-prescription products to order. Receives and dates orders daily. Stocks shelves, fills robot, and returns to stock. Pulls out-of-date inventory, adjusts inventory, and manages returns and special orders. Supplies products to other clinic departments. Maintains cleanliness of shelves, products and front-face lobby daily.
25% - Essential - Customer Service: Answers simple telephone billing questions and provides walk-out statements upon request. Answers telephone in a timely and courteous manner, transferring calls when necessary. Treats customers with understanding and respect and helps them better understand healthcare. Keeps customers aware of any problems with their prescriptions and helps resolve problems. Dresses appropriately with proper identification displayed at all times.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - High School or Equivalent and prior work experience as a pharmacy technician. Must have SC Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration.
Work Exp 1+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years' experience and immunization certified
PTCB certification

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range ($ 31,826.00 - $ 38,682.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Essential Level 1 employee
Required to respond during an emergency closure or modified operations in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
