JOB SUMMARY:
Plans and delivers a broad variety of high-quality group fitness programs that engage the Clemson Community. Provides development and leadership opportunities. Recruit, hire, train and evaluate a staff of approximately 60 student workers, interns, graduate assistants, and contracted instructors. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
50% - Essential - Group Fitness Programming:
Works independently to manage the Group Fitness program, including F45. Additional programming opportunities exist such as custom group fitness experiences, themed classes and personal training. Plans, promotes and executes a diverse schedule of classes and programs. Develops an intentional marketing and communication strategic plan that engages a variety of participants. Ensures Departmental and University procedures are followed at all times. Develops and monitors budgets. Evaluates studio equipment and facilities to ensure risk management and appropriate materials and procedures are being utilized at all times.
40% - Essential - Staff Management:
Recruits, hires, trains and evaluates graduate assistant, student employees and interns. Establishes a healthy staff culture and provides leadership development opportunities for staff to support retention. May support some integrated fitness and wellbeing program initiatives.
10% - Essential - Committee Participation and Collaboration:
Participates in departmental committees and national organizations related to the position and department. Collaborates with Campus Recreation team members and other university organizations to develop collaborative programs and services in support of the Campus Recreation mission.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: A Bachelor's Degree and experience in student services programs.
Work Exp 0+ years
Certification in Group Fitness Instruction from a nationally recognized agency (ACE, AFFA, NASM, ACSM, etc.); First Aid and CPR; or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Master's Degree - Fitness programming on a college campus.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides Budget Input - Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range: ($ 38,985.00 - $ 48,850.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
