JOB SUMMARY:
Clemson University's Regional Development Team is looking for a Regional Director of Development - North East to fulfill the following duties:
- Serves as Regional Director of Development in a remote capacity for the Northeastern U.S. region as part of the Regional Development program within the University Development Team and Advancement Division.
- In conjunction with the Senior Director of Regional Development, assists in the creation and implementation of a comprehensive regional major gift strategy that ensures a collaborative approach to expanding the University's engagement and fundraising efforts in the Northeastern United States.
- Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards major gifts from university-wide Northeastern U.S. alumni, parents, and friends of Clemson University.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
80% - Essential - Fundraising:
Manages a dynamic portfolio of major gift prospects and donors (up to 150 maximum) who have the capacity to make significant philanthropic gifts of $50,000 and above that will have a lasting impact on Clemson University. Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards gifts from university-wide alumni, parents and friends through 15-18 visits a month. Raises a minimum of $1.25M annually with subsequent years' goals determined in conjunction with the Sr. Director of Development. Creates and implements strategic prospect plans to increase the overall number of donors and level of commitments within the regional development program. Documents all donor and alumni interactions in centralized database.
10% - Essential - Strategic Collaboration:
Develops relationships to facilitate collaboration with team members across the Advancement Division, including college/unit based colleagues, Planning Giving, Annual Giving, Alumni Engagement and other stakeholders to advance the philanthropic strategies and priorities of the University and Colleges throughout the Northeastern U.S. Actively collaborates with members of the donor relations team to assist in strategic stewardship of assigned donors.
10% - Essential - Stewardship and Engagement:
Coordinates cultivation, stewardship and donor engagement opportunities and events related to development activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience: 1-3 Years -related experience in alumni engagement, fundraising, business development, sales or communication
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Work Experience: 3-5 Years of fundraising experience with demonstrated ability to close six-figure and seven-figure gifts.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
50% travel: overnight and day; expected to participate in meetings with main campus colleagues which take place on Eastern Standard Time.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hours: 37.5 Hours / Week
COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range: $ 97,417.00 - $120,000.00
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
