JOB SUMMARY:
Performs routine institutional custodial duties working as part of a team of skilled custodians. Assists in maintaining inventory, ordering and distributing supplies in assigned area. Performs other duties as assigned.
Work schedule Monday - Friday 4:45 am - 12:45pm, occasional overtime after 12:45 pm or on weekends. Standard Hours: 40

JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Housekeeping: Cleans, disinfects, and sanitizes assigned area(s) by performing the following housekeeping duties, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing, and polishing floors and furniture. Performs floor care, such as shampooing, waxing, buffing, and dry and wet stripping floors. Uses various custodial equipment to perform floor, restroom, and overall building care.
20% - Essential - inspection and Safety/Security Management: Accompanies supervisor while conducting inspections of assigned area(s) and responds to a specific direction of supervisor. Reviews chemical Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and assists in testing new cleaning products, and updates supervisor regarding use and performance. Performs initial safety/security check of assigned area upon arrival and coordinates with supervisor for project work needed.
20% - Essential - Inventory and Equipment Management: Assists in maintaining inventory, ordering and distributing supplies in assigned areas. Requests new products as needed. Stays abreast of standards for equipment use and minor maintenance. Inspects and restocks all custodial related dispensing unit.
10% - Essential - Recycling:
Assists in collection of recycling from assigned area(s) and informs customers of recycling opportunities.
10% - Essential - Training and Emergency Support: Assists with on-the-job training for new custodians. Responds to emergency, weekend and snow callbacks. Clear entrances of snow, ice, and other inclement weather obstacles.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in custodial, housekeeping or pest control work that is directly related to the area of employment
Licenses - Driver's License Class D normal < 26,000
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - High School or Equivalent
Work Experience: 1+ years experience in custodial, housekeeping work that is directly related to the area of employment

Required to respond during an emergency closure or modified operations in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
