JOB SUMMARY:

 

The eResources Specialist activates newly-purchased electronic resources in order to make them discoverable to library users. Assists with troubleshooting electronic resource access issues. Performs regular maintenance on eresource collections as needed. Supports eResources Discovery Librarian with electronic resource packages and collections activation assistance. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

30% - Essential - Working closely with Acquisitions and Collections, activates newly purchased eBooks in the Library Management System. Activates individual portfolios for other eresources as needed, including streaming video, open access resources, and ejournals. Provides support for activation of collections and packages. May supervise student assistants as needed, 
25% - Essential - Assists with troubleshooting eresource access issues, utilizing projects from ExLibris Alma's DARA and the Electronic Activation Task List.
20% - Essential - Performs regular maintenance of electronic resources, including review of ecollections and deactivation of canceled resources. Uses tools such as Alma Analytics, Overlap Analysis, and the Alma E-Resources module.
20% - Essential - Works on special projects impacting metadata and/or cataloging of electronic resources.
5% - Essential - Maintains knowledge of Library Management System through professional development.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  High School or Equivalent - A bachelor's degree may be substituted for work experience.
Work Experience - 1+ years of relevant library experience and technological experience such as experience with Microsoft 365 and web browsers.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Work Experience - Experience with electronic resources in libraries as well as experience using Excel and ExLibris Alma is preferred.

  80% - Recognize or inspect visually
  80% - Perceive, observe, clarity of vision

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Anticipated Hiring Range: $32,700.00 - $42,307.00
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
