JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Education Abroad Coordinator position plays a key role in advancing innovative, short-term, and experiential learning experiences that expand access and engagement for students during their academic journey. The position will coordinate Global Start Program logistics, collaborate with faculty and staff, and provide direct support to students to ensure the success and sustainability of these specialized programs. In addition, the position provides education abroad enrollment management support related to student advising, scholarship program coordination, and additional duties, as needed.

JOB DUTIES:

 

40% - Essential - Student Support & Engagement:
Serve as a primary point of contact for students participating in Global Start programs. Provide education abroad advising support for a subset of students. Coordinate and deliver student-facing events, workshops, informational sessions, and pre-departure orientations. Contribute to the facilitation of unit scholarship program(s) and award processes. Serve as a resource for future domestic field study programming.
30% - Essential - Program Development & Logistics: 

Coordinate program logistics for the Global Start Program portfolio. Assist with Global Start program proposal review and documentation to ensure compliance with university policies and best practices. Review program budgets and projected program fees to ensure alignment with university standards and compliance requirements. Maintain program-required timelines and ensure critical deadlines are met for all stakeholders.
20% - Essential - Partnerships & Collaboration:
Collaborate with campus partners to integrate education abroad opportunities into broader curricular and co-curricular pathways. Work closely with Global Start faculty directors to ensure consistent program standards and provide administrative support. Liaise with education abroad partner organizations to coordinate program logistics and support.
10% - Essential - Assessment & Communication:
Collect, track, and analyze data related to education abroad experiences to inform program improvement and reporting. Contribute to the development of promotional materials and outreach strategies for the education abroad programs. Prepare reports and presentations highlighting education abroad impact, participation trends, and student outcomes

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education - Bachelor's Degree
2+ years of relevant work experience

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education - Master's Degree and education abroad-related experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE
Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors Budget - Does not provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may oversee fund allocation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  85% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period
100% - Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

   5% - Overnight Travel

WORK SCHEDULE:

 

Standard Hours: 37.5

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Expected Salary Range: $ 39,300.00 - $ 53,100.00

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
