JOB SUMMARY:
Serve as Executive Assistant to Department Chair of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences. Plan, direct, coordinate/manage & provide complex support & administrative activities related to daily operation, administration, personnel, tenure & promotion. Oversee office assistant. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
35% - Essential - Executive Assistance: Provide executive assistance to the Department Chair in the Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences. Manage and organize faculty and staff evaluations, tenure, promotion and reappointment, and post tenure review files, faculty and staff searches, and faculty credentials. Compile and maintain complex data for specialized reports, proposals and correspondences. Manage scheduling all appointments for the Department Chair. Coordinate meetings, record minutes, and distribute reports. Serve as the administrative liaison between Department Chair and administration.
35% - Essential - HR and Personnel Coordination: Coordinate and manage department personnel and payroll ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Manage and organize documentation for position requests, new hire offers, personnel and payroll changes, and terminations. Oversee Kronos for all hourly and non-exempt employees. Coordinate summer pay for 9-month faculty and confidential reports. Maintain confidential personnel files.
15% - Essential - Faculty/Program Support: Provide administrative support to departmental committees. Ensure committees are functioning in accordance with departmental bylaws and faculty manual. Manage a wide-range of administrative duties for the graduate program. Serve as a resource person for the graduate coordinator and Graduate School. Manage applications and review process in Slate. Maintain graduate student enrollment numbers and graduation lists, maintain graduate student files, email announcements to graduate students, and compile graduate student reports using Business Objects and Report Generator.
15% - Essential - Office Management: Manage the main office and daily operations within the department. Coordinate vehicle reservations through Concur, process FM&O and telecommunications work orders, and key requests. Allocate and manage office space for graduate students. Serve as a resource on policies and procedures. Maintain files to comply with Records Management guidelines. Maintain a P-card and receipt revenue received. Serve as backup for Student Services Coordinator. Oversee office assistant (student) and coordinate workload.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - High School or Equivalent - Relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required
work experience.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience - 10+ years; Computer Software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Paint)

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Salary Range: $39,800.00-$60,000.00
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
