JOB SUMMARY:
Provides students with course planning and selection and academic policies guidance. Supports students with their course selection decision making process and degree program compliance. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Academic Advisement:
Advise students via meetings each term regarding academic policies, procedures and processes such as course selection and registration, degree program requirements, and graduation requirements. Review academic policies and assist students in understanding academic requirements, implications, and procedures. Follow documentation standards for student appointments.
25% - Essential - Student Support - Monitoring:
Monitor student compliance and progress with degree requirements and academic policies such as academic eligibility, change of major, and course substitution/forgiveness. Utilize University systems to maintain accurate records and conduct regular graduation checks to support students in progressing towards graduation.
15% - Essential - Student Support - Referrals:
Assist students with identifying appropriate university resources and engagement opportunities that support their academic, engagement, and career interests. Provide guidance on campus resources, such as tutoring, counseling, or career services. Assist students in navigating campus processes and refer students to campus partners as needed.
10% - Essential - Communication & Outreach:
Utilizes university platforms to communicate with assigned student caseload. Maintains and updates CAAC student services web page. Ensures outreach and information sharing adheres to university policies and federal regulations. Represents CAAC advising at events or committee meetings as requested by the Director of Student Services.
10% - Essential - Collaboration & Professional Development:
Collaborates with CAAC departments to support curriculum changes, emerging student needs, and actively participates in department meetings. Communicates with faculty and departmental staff regarding available campus resources and interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities. Engages in professional development both internally and externally.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - A Bachelor's Degree and experience working in student services programs

Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range ($ 50,000.00 - $ 55,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
