JOB SUMMARY:
Supports the recruitment and retention of students for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offerings of Clemson University by providing the highest-quality academic advisement and student support services. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Continuing Student Advising: Independently advises and counsels current students each semester for course registration and course expectations. Maintains an advising system to track student registrations, and initiates regular contact with students who have not registered in a timely manner. Follows the academic calendar to assist with drop/add dates, withdrawal deadlines, and registration corrections. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all program options, policies/procedures, and student support resources. Escalates matters of concern and non-responsive current students to the Associate Program Director in a timely manner.
25% - Essential - Pre-Enrollment Advising: Collaborates closely with admissions and financial aid to advise new students. Evaluates transcripts, develops curriculum check sheets, and proactively contacts students for schedule development/registration. Conducts pre-enrollment advising appointments with new students to map each plan of study. Analyzes student records in preparation for orientation appointments; advises students of scheduled follow-up appointments. Escalates matters of concern and non-responsive pre-enrolled students to MBA Admissions and the Associate Program Director in a timely manner.
25% - Essential - Customer Service: Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure MBA program students have an excellent experience from pre-enrollment to graduation. Identifies areas for improvement and communicates opportunities to the Associate Program Director. Collaborates with all student services program areas, including both MBA and main campus services, and actively participates in program improvements, projects, and new initiatives. Positively contributes to the MBA student experience, retention, and recruitment efforts.
10% - Essential - Program Support: Provides a variety of student services that enhance the MBA program and brand, including international student support, study abroad, graduation planning, and probationary student tracking. Collaborates with international students on CPT, OPT, and registration requirements. Advises students who are considering study abroad opportunities offered by MBA, and ensure they are connected with the Study Abroad office. Conducts graduation planning and requirement checks for all students. Carefully tracks probationary students and updates student services team and Associate Program Director; provides follow-up on probationary students, as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - 1st Bachelor's Degree
Experience in Student Services Programs
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - 1st Master's Degree
Work Exp 3+ years of experience in higher education academic advisement

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range $39,300 - $51,000
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
