Student Services Program Coordinator I - Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides timely and appropriate student services for the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences (AVS).  Schedules courses and registers students for classes. Coordinates and maintains student records.  Serves as an undergraduate advisor and mentor. Manages departmental social media. Provides administrative support and performs other duties as assigned. 

JOB DUTIES:

50% - Essential - Departmental Registration Coordinator:  Schedules and manages all departmental courses in university systems.  Registers students into classes that require instructor approval and aids students in resolving registration problems.  Coordinates and maintains records of 400+ undergraduate students. Prepares statistical reports on students for the Chair and Faculty.  Collects and maintains FERPA records required for teaching assistants in the AVS department.  Campus coordinator for Great Plains AG*Idea 

30% - Essential - Advising:  Serves as an undergraduate advisor and mentor.  Assigns undergraduate advisees to faculty advisors.  Assists the AVS Student Services Manager with new student and transfer  orientation sessions and planning. 

10% - Essential - Administrative Support:  Serves as the primary backup for the Departmental Administrative Coordinator.  Provides confidential assistance and office management services for teaching, research and outreach faculty.  Serves as a member of the AVS Chair's management team.

10% - Essential - Departmental equipment manager and media relations:  Responsible for maintenance and record keeping for the departmental vehicle, laundry facility, computers and video/camera equipment.  Maintains gas card and vehicle log for reserving the vehicle.  Prepares and distributes quarterly vehicle reports.
Maintains all AVS sponsored social media accounts and website.  Serves as the liaison to the university  for the AVS website ensuring that the website remains accurate.   

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education -  Bachelor's Degree

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education -   Master's Degree in Animal Science

Work Experience -  3+ years in Student Services

Standard Hrs: 37.5;  Expected Salary Range ($ 35,400.00 - $50,000.00 )

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
