JOB SUMMARY:
The Director, Academic Affairs Communications oversees the day-to-day operations of communication within the Division of Academic Affairs and serves on the Operational Communications Leadership Team within the Division of Marketing and Communications. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Executive Communications: -Develop executive communications for the Provost to include draft messages, talking points, presentations, remarks and speeches. -Plan, edit, and write content for a variety of Office of the Provost communications such as Web, newsletters, emails, etc.
40% - Essential - Organizational Communications: -Develop and implement a strategic communication plan, in consultation with the Provost and his Leadership Team, to strengthen and manage organizational communications to support programs, faculty scholarship, initiatives and activities led by Academic Affairs. -Develop and implement metrics that benchmark and track progress in effectiveness and impact in communications.
20% - Essential - Collaborative Communications: -Develop and maintain relationships with communicators within the Academic Affairs portfolio as well as across the institution. -Serve as the academic communication liaison between the Division of Academic Affairs and the Division of Marketing and Communications. -Provide insights and guidance as a communication leader. -Assists with deploying the vision and strategy for internal changes, using communication to drive adoption of changes. -Ensure consistency in messaging across the organization.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - 1st Bachelor's Degree - And public relations experience in an administrative capacity.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - 1st Master's Degree - Experience in media relations, Experience in comprehensive writing Work Exp 10+ years

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORKING CONDITIONS:
5% - Overnight Travel

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range ($ 63,707.00 - $ 84,000.00)

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
