The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Clemson University (http://www.clemson.edu/mse/) invites applications for a tenure/tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position with a starting date of August 15, 2023. The Department has vigorous research and comprehensive infrastructure in all areas of materials science. The successful candidate is expected to develop nationally and internationally recognized externally funded research program. Exceptional candidates in all areas of materials science and engineering will be considered. Priority consideration will be given to candidates with expertise in the area of advanced materials characterization.

The desired candidate is expected to have expertise and potential for high-level teaching and student engagement, education, and research expertise. We are seeking an individual who is an outstanding scholar and demonstrates a clear vision and plan to successfully establish a competitively funded research program that fits within the MSE defined research areas and University defined research themes related to the new Advanced Materials Innovation Complex (AMIC) (https://news.clemson.edu/amic21/). These areas include energy, sustainability, high-performance materials, recyclable materials, health, and advanced materials manufacturing, including but not limited to inorganic materials, polymer/soft materials, composites, functional materials, and hybrid (inorganic/organic) materials.
